If you are thinking of taking your dogs over to Europe like we are then you will need to get them a pet passport.
When I started reading up about pet passports it seemed like a minefield and the process seemed pretty daunting. Which seems a little crazy now as it is such a simple process.
Its as easy as 1,2,3…
- Your dog needs to be micro chipped.
- Your dog needs to have up to date vaccinations
- Your dog needs a rabies vaccination
And that’s it!
Both our dogs were already micro chipped and like most dog owners they had already had their annual vaccinations, so all we had to do was book them in to the vets for the rabies injection.
The rabies vaccination must be given at least two weeks before travel.
Returning back to the UK
We will have to take the dogs to the vets between 1-5 days before returning so they can be wormed.
So don’t be put off its as simple as that.. and take your furry friends with you on holiday 😊
