Yes ! We aren’t doing this adventure alone!
Oakley
Oakley was the cutest ‘chocolate’ box puppy. Here’s a picture so you can see for yourself.
I used to show German Shepherds and owned Oakley’s grandad. So when we made the decision to get another dog we searched to see if we can find one of Trappers grand children.
Fast forward 10 years and Oakley now looks like this.
He is a lovely dog but unfortunately Oakley isn’t keen on strangers, in fact he is scared of his own shadow. However, we know his limitations and we don’t put him into stressful situations and he is loveable and adorable with us and that’s the main thing. Oakley’s favourite past time is to follow Colin around the garden when he is mowing the lawn. I’m sure this is something he is going to miss doing while we are living in a motorhome!
Lily
Well Lily came about by chance. We were having lunch at a country pub on a wet Saturday afternoon and somebody had a 8 week old springer spaniel puppy running around. I couldn’t help but go over and start stroking it. I got talking to the owner who gave us the telephone number of the breeder. We called them, an hour later we were choosing between the last dog and last bitch in the litter. So a few hours later we were home introducing her to Oakley. What a strange day !
Here’s a picture of the sweet little puppy we chose.
Lily is now nearly 6 years old. She is wonderful in every way. Like every springer spaniel she has an endless amount of energy but she is also equally happy cuddling up with me. Her only vice is when she meets new people or gets too excited she wets herself with excitement. However, to me she is perfect.
Lily and Oakley are very much best friends, they have been from day one.
Lily is the boss and decides whether poor old Oakley is allowed the toys. However, he doesn’t seem to mind he is happy to trundle around behind her.
They are both very excited about the new adventure too.
So dog passports at the ready and off we go!
