Final stop before France in Colins home town

We drove to the Canterbury camping and caravan site for a couple of nights before setting off to the continent.

Colin set off around the town to get his last English haircut and I cleaned the motorhome through all ready to set off to France.

My sister gave me an inflatable lounger which folds up nice and small and we decided to give this a test run.  The weather has been gorgeous so we decided to sit out and sunbathe. On reading the instructions the lounger seemed pretty straight forward to inflate. You open it up and run in a straight line and shut the end once you have caught enough air. Easy in essence but on a calm hot day with temperatures over 35 degrees I could do nothing but chuckle as Colin ran backwards and forwards trying to inflate it.

Once inflated it seemed there was only enough room for one, the second laugh was watching Colin trying to sit on it! It took 3 attempts but once seated there was no moving him. Personally I think he was too scared to get off it.

We met up with Stuart and Cynthia aka Flip Flops and Woolly Hats in the evening. They gave up their careers last year and are currently working on the campsite before heading off again in November to Spain. So we picked their brains on where we could stay when we arrived in France as we needed an easy Aire so we could find our feet on arrival.

We have now been on the road for a few weeks but still have so much more to learn but the adventure so far has been positive and we feel ready to face the tests of leaving England to venture over to France.

Looks like fun so far. Enjoy France! I’m not sure I’d get very far once I’d stocked up on wine. Then again, I’d probably be happy enough spending a year living as a wineo in an unmoving motorhome, whereas you might not.

Yes we are having a great time. The weather has been kind and we have settled well into our new way of life. Don’t forget about the cheese as well !
