We got up and got on the road as soon as we could knowing that although it was only 190 miles until our next stop, very little of the roads were motorway or toll roads. We were heading east to Saint Paulien
The journey took us nearly 7 hours! Admittedly we had a lunch break and a quick dog stop but all in all that could only really amount to about half an hour.
The views were breath taking and reminded us of Wales. We drove through the Cantal mountains and as they say what goes up must come down. That is the only way to describe the roads, our ears were even popping with the altitude.
Saturday was a bit cooler than we have been used to so we used this as our cleaning day. Even in motorhome life the ‘house on wheels’ needs to be cleaned through and we need to wash our clothes etc.
However, Sunday has been sunny and about 23 degrees. Everyone should relax on a Sunday, so we took to the pool. What’s great is we are now out of season so we had our own private pool all day.
With all best laid plans at some point they change… that’s the beauty of living in a motorhome we can go wherever we wish and change our minds to suit. So rather than head straight to the Italian lakes we are heading towards Geneva tomorrow.
