We drove through the Cabo de Gato National Park admiring the scenery. Our intention was to explore different areas but unfortunately it was very windy so we stayed at an Aire until the wind calmed down.
Colin loves spaghetti westerns, he remembers sitting watching them with his dad when he was young. So we decided it would be good to visit Los Albaricoques, which is the town that film director Sergio Leone used to film his trilogy A Fistful of Dollars, A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
The town itself isn’t very big, so we only spent a couple of hours wandering around. A lot of the characters in the films were actual residents of the town. Although these films where filmed over 50 years ago the residents are very proud of its heritage.
All the streets are named after characters that where in the trilogy.
For a bit of fun we re-enacted a couple of the famous scenes from the films.
We stopped to have a drink in the bar at bottom of the street before heading off into the sunset.
