Did you know that more than 600 spaghetti westerns have been filmed in Almeria? No neither did we! So following on from our visit to Los Albaricoques we thought it would be nice to drive through the Tabernas Desert en-route to Granada.
The Tabernas Desert spans approx. 110 miles and with its lunar landscape it is a great location to use for filming desert scenes. There are 3 film sets that are now mainly used as a tourist attraction. We were planning on visiting them but after reading poor reviews we decided to give them a miss. We did stop to take a picture of Fort Bravo and glad we had decided not to waste the 18 euro each entrance fee as it looked like you could probably walk around it in 10 minutes.
The drive was very scenic and different to anywhere we have been before. It was a shame that it was still too windy for us to get the drone out, never mind that’s something to do next time!
