If you have been following us for a while you may recall that Colin was born in Kent and grew up in Canterbury. We both enjoy visiting this beautiful city and even Colin admitted that although he lived there for 19 years he feels like he walked around as a child with his eyes closed.
There are 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the iconic Cathedral.
We had both missed good ole fish and chips while being away and a curry so we made sure we ticked both of our list before leaving again for Mainland Europe.
Colin also wanted to visit Dreamland in Margate which he has lovely childhood memories of visiting. Dreamland is an amusement park which is based on a traditional English funfair. The site of the park was first used for amusement rides in 1880 and was named Dreamland in 1920 when the park’s Grade II listed scenic railway wooden rollercoaster opened.
The park sadly closed in 2003 and reopened again in 2015. The Happy Mondays were playing a concert at Dreamland and admission included the rides.
We had a great night going on the funfair rides including the scenic railway and then listening to the Happy Mondays.
So if you are looking for a music gig with a twist then we definitely recommend checking out who’s playing at Dreamland.
