This was very different to Benidorm! Guadalest is located in the mountains approximately 15 miles inland from Benidorm and has only 189 inhabitants.
We parked in the car park and this also became ‘home’ for the night.
For such a small village there is quite a lot to see. A lot of people visit to go to the miniature museum but we decided to give this a miss.
We walked up to the village square and enjoyed the views over looking the reservoir.
We also had a look in the shops which were selling artisan products and not the usual tourist souvenirs’ which made a refreshing change.
We paid 4 euros each to look around the House Orduna which is now a museum. The admission fee also gave us access to the castle. The castle is mainly now a ruin but is worth the visit to enjoy the breath taking views.
Guadalest is an enchanting village and definitely worth a visit.
