Rovinj is located on the western coast of the Istrian peninsular it is becoming a popular tourist destination. There was even a small cruise ship in the port while we were there. However, it is still an active fishing port and full of charm.
We enjoyed wondering around the harbour and up the cobbled streets of the ‘old town’ there are plenty of interesting shops selling handmade wonders.
There are plenty of restaurants serving up fresh fish caught that day at a modest price or if your budget will stretch to it there were several champagne bars with views out over the coast.
The sunset was very beautiful and we trekked up through the town to the Church of St Euphemia which proudly sits at the top to watch it set.
Looking at the weather forecast for the following week we could see that temperatures were going to start to drop so we stayed here for a few days to make the most of swimming in the sea.
We also enjoyed reading our books and chilling out by the pool.
