Our first thought was to go by ferry as we wanted to see the White Cliffs of Dover as we left the UK. After further deliberation this would mean leaving the dogs unattended in the motorhome. So we decided to use the Channel tunnel so we could all stay together.
We arrived at the terminal and checked in. The member of staff was really helpful and explained the process fully. We had about 45 minutes to spare so parked up in the car park.

The facilities were great for us and the dogs, we headed over to the walkies area so the dogs could have one last comfort break.
We suddenly realised we hadn’t fixed a GB sticker to the motorhome so Colin got to work.
In no time at all we were called to passport control and then allocated a lane. At this point we were delayed for 30 minutes and then boarded the train.
The process was easy, with the dogs settled 35 minutes later we were in Calais.
As soon as we hit Calais it started to rain. Can you believe it ?
We headed down the toll road to an Aire at St Valery Sur Somme and this will be our stopover for 2 nights.
