After visiting Amsterdam we decided we just needed a couple of days to relax and spend some time with the dogs.
We found a lovely small campsite called Camperplaats Emmeloord http://www.camperplaatsemmeloord.nl It is owned by a gentleman called Joop and his wife, who live next door. It only cost 11 euros per night including electric hook up and the hosts are lovely people.
The location was perfect for us as next door to the campsite is a lovely lake that we could walk the dogs around, the walk took about an hour. There is a restaurant overlooking the lake too.
Joop and his wife are also keen campers so the campsite was set up brilliantly. They even had a freezer stocked with food you could buy, including ice creams.
We had a great two days here recharging our batteries and would highly recommend a stay if you are in the area.
