We had made arrangements to meet a friend of Colin’s in Gdansk in Poland at the end of August.
We therefore decided the best route for us to take was the ferry from Gedser in Denmark back to Rostock in Germany.

The ferry which is run by Scandi Lines, only takes 1 hour 45 minutes and goes several times per day. It cost 153 euros which was quite a lot for a short journey but a lot cheaper than if we had driven back to Germany via road.

We had the choice of either leaving the dogs in the motorhome or sitting with them on the open deck. It was quite a brisk morning so we decided to leave them in the motorhome.

We had a very calm sailing and arrived on time in Rostock.

It was motorway for the majority of the journey so we took a leisurely drive to Szczecin which is just over the Polish border.

We stayed at http://www.campingmarina.pl which only cost approx. £13.00 for the night.
