We left Budapest and drove for about 2 hours. We struggled to find many campsites open but that didn’t stop us as we desperately wanted to see Lake Balaton. So we found a car park on park4night in Balatonföldvár which is located on the south side of the lake.
Balatonföldvár is a popular tourist destination in the summer and you could see that there would be a great choice of water sports, restaurants and there is even a Tesco express.
We stayed the night in a car park on the edge of a park, which was great for Lily dog to be able to have a good run.
We imagine Lake Balaton would be an amazing experience in the summer.
