We are Karen and Colin Trace. We have been together for 14 years this year. I am from Cornwall originally and moved to the Midlands in 1995. Colin is originally from Kent and moved to the Midlands in 1991. We have both been very focused up until now on building our careers. I have worked in the property industry for the past 22 years and I was up until recently a Lettings Area Director looking after 22 offices for a large corporate estate agent. Colin has always been in Construction and was working for a Top 5 contractor as a design manager.

We both live by the same ethos – Life is for living and should be enjoyed every day. However, a usual working week for me was a minimum of 50 hours plus per week.
We are in our forties- I am 43 years old and Colin is 45 years old. I do not have any children of my own and Colin’s daughter is now 25 years old, I started thinking there must be more we can do than be caught up on the corporate treadmill. I came across some blogs of people travelling Europe in a motorhome and I fell in love with the idea-I just needed to sell the idea to Colin !! It didn’t take much and we decided yes why not? Lets do it! We just needed to decide how to do it.
Although we have both had reasonably good jobs we love to live life to the full. We like nice holidays, we drive nice cars and our lifestyle is great. We aren’t frivolous with money but we are in a fortunate position that we aren’t watching every penny we spend. Luckily Colin is much more sensible with money than I am and he has made sure that we have got some savings behind us.
So we put our house onto a buy to let mortgage, have sold what we can on eBay and in local newspapers, anything we wanted to keep has gone into storage and here we are and off we go!

Hi myself and my husband, are thinking about traveling in a motorhome in the next two years, please keep me informed how your trip is going.
Hi Brenda. Well we have been on the road now for just over 7 weeks and loving it. Our motorhome is very comfortable and we certainly recommend it. I update the blog at every location and facebook too, so please like our facebook page and check our blog regularly. If you require any help or advice please do not hesitate to ask.
Hi we think its fantastic what you are doing it is very much on our wish list to do .Everyone tells us you have to wait untill you retire to do such things we strongly dissagree with this we tow a caravan our plan is to maybe look at working for a eurocamp type company in the south of france and combine the two so we have a little money rolling in while we live the dream
Hi Steve. Thank you for your message. On our travels we have met people who do exactly that and work on site for 6 months to fund 6 months travelling. The best of both worlds. Its always difficult to break away from the ‘norm’ but why wait until you retire?? Live for today 🙂
